The only thing that’s certain in life, is change.

Many of us live in fear of change, as if by holding onto the present tightly, we can prevent the future from coming.

But, of course, we can’t hold back time; we can only enjoy the present for a moment before it becomes the past.

There are a lot of changes happening in the world at the moment, and a lot of uncertainty about how our future will look.

If you’re living in fear of change, here are a few things you can do to help reduce your anxiety and feel better:

1. Ground yourself in the present. Bring your awareness to your breath. Focus on what you can see, here and feel right now. Remind yourself that you are safe, here and now.

2. Go out into nature. Look at the trees which have been standing for many years. Things change around them, but they stay rooted and strong. You can be like this too, becoming flexible and letting the winds blow around you while you stay strong.

3. Write a list of all the things you are grateful for. This reminds you of the good things in your life, and all the things that really matter. Try doing this every day for a week, and see the positive effect it has on your overall mood.

4. Talk to people who are also going through similar changes, or who have already been through them and come out the other side. Getting another perspective on your situation can be life-changing.

Change can be scary, but it can also be exciting. It can bring new things and people which will enhance your life.

You’ve already been through so many changes since you were born, and you’re still here, with so many more opportunities and exciting times ahead.

Only you can decide how well you roll with the changes in your life. You’re the one in control. You’ve got this.
